Cape El Meddouza Morocco where my Villa will be Built
The North of Morocco is Africa’s closest point to Europe, I can remember back In the 70’s one of my army postings was a six month tour in Gibraltar, from the camp I was stationed at you could easily see the Moroccan coast, a few miles away. It never even crossed my mind that one day I would end up living there.
The main coastal route runs from Tangier in the north right down the coast line to Agadir in the south, my place is about half way between the two, the land edges right up to the coast road cross the road and you’re on the beach. The road is not that busy and is mostly used by tourists, who drive along for the breath taking scenery and fantastic sea views.
My little bit of Morocco is very near a village called El Meddouza . Meddouza is really small one hotel one restaurant a couple of shops and about 500 inhabitants. If you look at the map of morocco you will see half way down the Atlantic coast there s a dogs leg bend this is Meddouza, the locals call it Cap Meddouza or in Brit speak Cape Meddouza. There are miles and miles of sandy beaches and depending on the weather great big Atlantic breakers, fantastic for surfing, and the best bit it is just about deserted. You can have a mile of beach to yourself, or you can move near to the village where there are people and life-guards on duty.
I loved this place as soon as I saw it, the beaches and sea are spotless, the weather is great 95% of the year, and the views are spectacular. So this is where I am going to build my Villa. Now to start the planning, anyone know a good architect? Or a good house design software package?

You’re thinking of a carrot right?
If not, you’re among the 2% of the population whose minds are warped enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with carrot when given this exercise.
Freaky, huh?

Amazing tree climbing goats of Morocco
I had no intention of posting anything today, I was just doing some research when I came across this, and just had to share it with you.
In Morocco, goats climb and perch in the branches of the Argan tree in search of its fruit, which contains a small number of almond-shaped nuts. After the nuts are excreted by the goats, local farmers use them to produce a rich, golden-colored oil that has a nutty, buttery taste and is said to have medicinal properties.
So these goats climb trees to get the nuts that the farmers cannot reach, the farmers wait around till the goats have had their fill, and need to have a good S**t, then collect whats left of the nuts to make oil that has a nutty buttry taste, with a little bit of goat crap thrown in for added flavour.
I wonder who the first person was to see these goats climbing trees, and why on earth did he think it would be a good idea to rake through the goat crap and collect the leftover nuts to make oil?

A life changing event
Today 5th August 2008 is probably the best day to write this article, I have already told you that one of the main reasons I decided to build a villa was because of a life changing event, what happened is this.
1956 to 2006
aged: 50
From: Blyth, NorthumberlandCarol Ann Hogg Died 5th August 2006 at 18.25
Wife Mother and Grandmother.
We came back from holiday and everything was fine, we had really enjoyed the break, the next day she felt unwell and five weeks later she died from a brain tumor, The doctors said the tumor was so aggressive there was nothing they could do, She was so brave and strong throughout her short illness, and like everything else she did she put 120% into fighting her sickness, but it was just too much for her, even though she never gave up fighting. Carol died 2 days before our 33rd wedding anniversary, she still sent me a card before she died, she made me lists so I wouldn’t forget the kids birthdays, she gave me a little book with all the important telephone numbers in, she made me promise to get on with life, but to keep our girls close. Right up until the end she was thinking about us, even though she was very ill herself. That was the kind of person she was, one in a million and we all love her to bits, and miss her terribly.
Every day has been difficult, I miss her so much, I tried to bury myself in work but I find myself thinking of her most of the time.
We had 4 daughters and she loved them all fiercely, she would do anything to protect them they were all close more like sisters than mother and daughters.
Goodbye Cazz you will always be in our thoughts. I love you and thank you for 34 wonderful years, your loving husband.
Brian XXXXXXX
For you Carol I know you will be here with me.
If you want to know more see Carol’s website.
