I´m traveling to Morocco in a week and I just wanted to know how easy it is to eat vegetarian and if there are a variety of options? I´ll be in Tangier and Fez if that info helps at all. Also, I don´t eat fish or anything like that, so that´s out.

Hey, I have been to various places in Morocco in 1997 including Tanger and Fez, and I fell in love with it!! Wanted to go back there ever since but just waiting for the right opportunity..
( I am a vegetarian also, and from what I can remember, I kept stuffing myself with various kinds of fruits, mainly watermelons (they taste gorgeous there!). I believe you can get vegetarian couscous at restaurants, and they are pretty friendly there, so if you ask them to cook something for you without meat, I am sure they will do it (after all, there is no hardship in it and it means money coming in for them). They also do a dish called “tajine” which they probably could have in vegetarian form (mainly this is meat or fish tajine). you shouldn’t be starving over there, I don’t recall starving myself
)
I think you won’t have any problems, all of our food is healthy and has a lot of vegetables in it, you can always discard meat and eat the rest..fruits are available everywhere also so …just come and enjoy what morocco has to offer
you can order vegetarian tagines and other dishes such as salads without meat.
It’s fairly easy especially in tangier and fez. although i prefer cooking when i’ve travelled there. I ate lots of vegetable tagines and couscous but not salads since they are not cooked. i also ate lots of fruit which was delicious, but only peeled fruits to avoid any potential stomach issues. Enjoy your trip!
My dad survives on his raw diet when he visits his family in Morocco. Although they think he’s crazy!
too bad that u r vegeterian, if u try the moroccan meat u will definitely forget about being vegeterian
