So today is a big day, for us all the paperwork for the land has been completed the last part was something called a Mohaffida I really have no idea what it is but my wife assures me that this is the most important piece of the legal jigsaw, I think it could be some sort of surveyor report and a type of government insurance. So thats all the legalities and paperwork finished, now for the planning and designing bit, where to begin

Anyway it’s legally ours to do whatever we want with now, so now I guess I need an architect and some sort of plan. I think I will just start with the basics I will give them the size of the land and tell them this is what it must have. And then see what they come up with.
• Swimming pool at 3 meters by 6
• 4 bedrooms all en-suite
• 2 of the main bedrooms at the front of the house with balcony and sea views
• Large kitchen and kitchen garden (for growing herbs and some vegetables)
• Office
• Large living room opening to patio and pool/ BBQ area.

So there we have not much to ask is it? Now to find a good architect, Oh and another this I think I want to use solar and wind power as much as possible, and it is probably a good idea to have our own water well, although I would imagine this close to the sea the water could well be salty, another thing I have to check on.
Thank god things are finally moving.

Cape El Beddouza Morocco where my Villa will be Built

I am going to build my villa in a small village on the Atlantic coast called Beddouza.

The North of Morocco is Africa’s closest point to Europe, I can remember back In the 70’s one of my army postings was a six month tour in Gibraltar, from the camp I was stationed at you could easily see the Moroccan coast, a few miles away. It never even crossed my mind that one day I would end up living there.

Miles of deserted beaches in Morocco

El Beddouza Best Beaches In Morocco

The main coastal route runs from Tangier in the north right down the coast line to Agadir in the south, my place is about half way between the two, the land edges right up to the coast road cross the road and you’re on the beach. The road is not that busy and is mostly used by tourists, who drive along for the breath taking scenery and fantastic sea views.

Beddouza Is on the Atlantic coast

My little bit of Morocco is very near a village called El Beddouza . Beddouza is really small one hotel one restaurant a couple of shops and about 500 inhabitants. If you look at the map of morocco you will see half way down the Atlantic coast there s a dogs leg bend this is Beddouza, the locals call it Cap Beddouza or in Brit speak Cape Beddouza. There are miles and miles of sandy beaches and depending on the weather great big Atlantic breakers, fantastic for surfing, and the best bit it is just about deserted. You can have a mile of beach to yourself, or you can move near to the village where there are people and life-guards on duty.
I loved this place as soon as I saw it, the beaches and sea are spotless, the weather is great 95% of the year, and the views are spectacular.

So this is where I am going to build my Villa. Now to start the planning, anyone know a good architect? Or a good house design software package? Building my Moroccan villa in Beddouza.

I have a feeling that Beddouza will become a tourist hotspot soon enough.
